Profile
My first years in the electronics industry were in engineering, designing ASICs. Over the years I ‘progressed’ into the more commercial roles of marketing, pre-sales consulting and managing.
I eventually left corporate life and co-founded a software company specialising in delivering software solutions for the electronics industry. My strengths were in developing the commercial strategies, strong messages and partner and client relationships. So, I guess I’m creative, a good communicator and have excellent people skills.
I have identified and opened new markets for new and established companies and products, managed the development of new products and solutions and companies and established and driven global relationships and cooperation.
With many years Business-to-Business experience, ranging from product marketing in global corporations to launching and running start-ups, I have the experience to help companies with:
- Business planning
- Strategic marketing
- Strategic selling
- Innovation
- Sales and presentation training
- Influencing and negotiation
- Relationship management – customers, external partners and colleagues
- Creating a strong, motivated and balanced teams
- Market research
There are any number of reasons why businesses need help for a short period; turning an idea into a business, creating a business plan or a marketing strategy, developing particular skills, filling a gap left by a colleague, launching a product, presenting a business to others, creating collateral for sales and customers, and so on. I have the breadth of experience to help in these areas and more.
In the last few years I have found that my greatest satisfaction comes from helping, teaching and inspiring others. Our biggest enemy, the thing that stops us trying new things, stops us from taking that leap, is fear. Once that is recognised and put into perspective then it’s an exciting world, full of possibilities. A couple of years ago I started playing the guitar and I’d love to one day play in a band. Breaking goals down into smaller achievable chunks, my current aim is to play a whole piece before my daughter leaves the room. I recently started writing and I hope that one day I’ll write something that others want to read.
